Platform switch into WordPress
Website migration services: move to WordPress, URL by URL
For owners and marketing leads moving a business site from another platform into WordPress, when that site earns inquiries or sales from Google.
If your business site runs on another platform and Google sends it inquiries or sales, we move it into WordPress and map each URL on your signed inventory to its new page. The URL-Verified Migration costs from $2,990 / £2,390, with launch QA and day-30 crawl checks included.
Day-30 URL Check: Final 40% invoiced only after our day-30 crawl shows every signed-list URL reaching its mapped, indexable page. Outages and others' changes excluded.
Platform pattern map
Sample| Old pattern | WordPress pattern | Example | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| /post/{slug} | /blog/{slug}/ | /post/storm-damage-guide → /blog/storm-damage-guide/ | 301 |
| /product-page/{slug} | /shop/{slug}/ | /product-page/blue-mug → /shop/blue-mug/ | 301 |
| /blog/categories/{name} | /blog/category/{name}/ | /blog/categories/tips → /blog/category/tips/ | 301 |
| /{page} | /{page}/ | /about → /about/ | 301 |
| /copy-of-home | – | Duplicate page, no equivalent | 410 |
Is this the right service for your move?
A platform switch into WordPress is the one job these website migration services cover: a business site leaves the platform it runs on today and relaunches on self-hosted WordPress. We move the site into WordPress and map, redirect and check its URLs, end to end.
Before any quote, the platform the site runs on today is checked for what its export carries and which URL patterns it forces, so the quote names the route out of that platform.
Nearby situations have their own route:
- Your developer or agency is building the new site. You need SEO cover for another developer’s build, not a second builder.
- The move should also bring a new design. Ask for both in one quote; what a WordPress redesign adds shows the design side of that quote.
- You are an agency and the site belongs to a client. The same move is available white-label for agencies moving client sites.
What a free host migration covers, and what it leaves out
A host’s migration service, free or paid, moves an existing site onto that host’s servers. Two hosts’ own migration pages leave hosted-builder sites out entirely: one lists “Proprietary site builders and hosting services such as Wix, Weebly, or Squarespace” among the sites that “cannot be migrated”4, and the other states: “If you build websites using any website builder, you won’t be able to migrate them”5.
Leaving a hosted builder means recreating every page in WordPress and deciding, for each URL on your signed inventory, whether it keeps its path or redirects to its mapped page. That work is what the URL-Verified Migration is priced for.
If your site already runs on WordPress and only the host or domain changes, the job is a different one: see changing host while staying on WordPress.
Scope and price by site size
The URL-Verified Migration is priced by two counts, the pages moved and the URLs on your signed inventory: size S costs $2,990 / £2,390 and size M costs $5,490 / £4,390. Sites larger than size M move under the Migration Intensive, from $14,900 / £11,900. The price tables list each size’s limits and everything included, from the signed inventory to the Handover Pack.
Not included: new copywriting, hosting and domain renewals, premium theme or plugin licenses, paid apps the old platform used, stock images and translation. We do the build and the SEO work in-house; nothing is subcontracted without your written OK.
For comparison, published market prices for migrations are collected by provider type.

How your URLs are mapped when the platform changes
Each URL on your signed inventory ends the project with a decision you signed: it keeps its exact path in WordPress, it redirects to its mapped page with one 301 redirect, or it is retired on purpose. The inventory sets which URLs count: every address with Google Search Console clicks or impressions in the last 16 months, a backlink, an index entry or a sitemap entry, which you sign before mapping starts.
Where the old platform fixed part of a path, the platform pattern map turns that pattern into a rule, so whole groups of old URLs reach their mapped pages. Export options and URL limits differ by platform, and the CMS migration matrix compares them platform by platform.
On the WordPress side, the Permalinks screen offers a Custom Structure field that “allows you to define your own custom URL structure using the structure tags available in WordPress”3, which lets the old platform’s pattern for post URLs be kept where those tags can express it. The redirects are then built from the signed map on your WordPress host, and the day-30 crawl checks every signed-list URL against it.
Timeline, launch window and what you provide
Project length for the URL-Verified Migration, by size: 3 weeks (S) / 5 weeks (M) from the start date confirmed at signing; the clock pauses while waiting on the client for more than 2 business days.
The order does not change: you sign the URL inventory, we move the site into WordPress on staging while your current site keeps serving visitors, you approve staging, and the new site launches in an agreed launch window, with launch QA running in that window. The phases, and who does what in each, are set out in how each phase runs.
For a site on a hosted builder, launch means a DNS change, and visitors reach the new site as that change spreads. Google’s guide to changing hosting says to shut the old hosting down when “no one is using the old infrastructure”2, so keep the old site online until then.
What we need from you: admin logins for the current platform, read access to Search Console, access to your domain’s DNS settings, a WordPress hosting account, and your sign-off on the inventory, the map and staging. Fixed quotes come back within 1 business day. Start dates follow capacity: We take on at most 1 new relaunch project a month.
How payment follows the checks
Payment follows the checks: the first part books the project, and two billing lines set the rest, the Staging sign-off and the Day-30 URL Check. Both are printed under Terms below, each beside its conditions, remedy and limits.
Google ranks the pages, and its guide to site moves with URL changes says to “Expect temporary fluctuation in site ranking during the move.”1 So the last payment is tied to the day-30 crawl, which checks the URL work, and not to rankings, which no one can promise after a platform switch.
Terms for URL-Verified Migration and options
Day-30 URL Check
- Condition
- The final 40% of the project fee is invoiced only after our day-30 crawl shows every URL on your signed list reaching its mapped, indexable page: the old URL returns one 301 to its mapped target, the target returns 200, is not noindexed or blocked by robots.txt, and its canonical points to itself; an unchanged URL returns 200; a URL the signed map retires returns 410. Your part: sign the URL inventory and the map before launch, keep our WordPress admin and hosting/DNS access through day 30, and tell us before changing URLs, permalinks, redirect rules or redirect plugins in those 30 days.
- Remedy
- We fix every failure at no charge and re-crawl within 2 business days of each fix; the 40% is invoiced on the first passing crawl.
- How to claim
- Automatic: day 30 is 30 calendar days after the launch time in the launch log, and we run the crawl within 2 business days after it. The report and CSV are shared with you, and you can re-run the same list.
- Limit
- Once per project. If the crawl cannot run because access was removed or the site is down for reasons outside our scope, the 40% is invoiced on day 37. Not covered: host, CDN or DNS outages; changes made by you or anyone else; URLs added after you signed the list.
Staging sign-off
Second 30% due when you approve staging, or 5 business days after we send it unless you list in-scope fixes.
- Applies to
- Projects bill 30% to book, 30% at staging sign-off and 40% under the Day-30 URL Check.
- How it is billed
- Staging counts as approved when you approve it, or 5 business days after we send it unless you list in-scope fixes in that time.
- How it runs
- List the in-scope fixes in writing within the 5 business days.
- Limit
- In-scope fixes only; new requests are quoted as extra hours.

What happens after launch
After launch, Redirect Guard crawls your signed list and alerts you when a URL stops reaching its mapped page; when the included months end, Guard continues as an add-on at $149 / £119 a month. Link Reclamation, also included, asks the owners of your top linking domains to update their links to the new URLs.
After a platform switch, every old URL that changed path lives on only as a redirect, and Google’s guide to site moves with URL changes says to “Keep the redirects for as long as possible, generally at least 1 year.”1 The design, code, content and redirect files are yours on full payment.
What you get with URL-Verified Migration
Signed URL inventory
Every address with Search Console clicks or impressions in the last 16 months, a backlink, an index entry or a sitemap entry, listed for you to sign before mapping starts.
Redirect map and platform pattern map
Each signed-list URL is mapped to one WordPress page. Where the old platform fixed part of a path, that pattern becomes a rule, so whole groups of old URLs reach their mapped pages.
Launch QA and two follow-up crawls
Checks in the agreed launch window (robots.txt, noindex, canonicals, redirects, sitemaps, Search Console and analytics), then the day-7 and day-30 crawls with a fix list.
Handover Pack
Your redirect export, the signed inventory and the logins, handed over when the project closes.
